U.S. stocks are off by 3%, and investors are scrambling to pick up the slack
BOSTON — Shares of the U.K.-based Dow Jones Industrial Average rose after investors scrambled to pick their feet from the floor as the Dow dropped 2.2% to 18,829.93.
The S&P 500 gained 0.3%.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq composite both dropped 0.4% in morning trade.
The Dow was the biggest decliner of the day as investors rushed to buy stocks in anticipation of another round of regulatory and legislative uncertainty.
